Small Metro Vancouver restaurant chain closes final location

They had three restaurants across Metro Vancouver at one point

Zeitoon, formerly a Persian restaurant chain, has closed its last location in Vancouver's West End.

What was a small chain of Persian restaurants across Metro Vancouver has seen its final location close.

Zeitoon, which had three locations a few years ago, has closed its space at 1795 Pendrell St. in the West End. It was the last Zeitoon location, after their other restaurants in Port Moody and North Vancouver's Lonsdale neighbourhood previously shuttered around 2019 and 2020.

It's unclear when the last Zeitoon closed; it had been open this summer, but no announcement was made when it closed. Its website is gone, and social media accounts were dormant before the closure.

Zeitoon served a variety of Persian dishes, including lamb shank, kebabs, and ghormeh sabzi (a stew).

Signs are up at 1795 Pendrell St. for a new restaurant, called Diba. An Instagram account for the incoming restaurant provides few details, only sharing that it will have elegant, traditional Persian food. V.I.A. has reached out for more details.
