TWO Ontario men are wanted by Durham Regional Police on a Canada-wide second-degree murder warrant for the shooting of former North Vancouver resident and possible gang affiliate Kamran Ahmadbeigi.
Police are asking the public for help in locating Shorsh Sad "Danny" Sivan, 31, and Nabaz Delr-Ismail, 28. Both suspects are from Mississauga, Ont.
Within 24 hours of his arrival from Vancouver on May 25, Ahmadbeigi was shot dead in the driveway of a house in Oshawa.
"There is nothing to indicate he was shot over gang ties," said Det. Dianne Jennings of the Durham Regional Police.
CFSEU gang task force spokeswoman Maureen Gulyas also could not confirm Ahmadbeigi's gang status.
Durham police believe that Delr-Ismail and Sivan are in Europe. Jennings said they fled Canada due to their involvement in the murder.
Ahmadbeigi owned a business in the Lower Mainland and was in Oshawa because he had business in Ontario, said Jennings.
Sivan, Ahmadbeigi and Delr-Ismail were not known to police prior to the shooting, but all three men were known associates, said Jennings.
At one time, Ahmadbeigi kept a residence in North Vancouver, according to RCMP Const. Richard De Jong.
However, De Jong said Ahmadbeigi's connections to the North Shore may not have been extensive.
"It's not uncommon for criminal types to have multiple locations in the Lower Mainland," said De Jong. "Just because someone has an apartment in North Van doesn't mean they live here."
Anyone with information about these three men is encouraged to contact Det. Dianne Jennings at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5223 or Det. Terry Haight at ext. 5247.
