North Vancouvers Lynn Valley Road on-ramp was closed for several hours Thursday when a container truck rolled over as it prepared to drive on to the highway.
The truck filled with construction materials was heading north on the ramp at about 10 a.m. when the load apparently shifted, causing the vehicle to flip onto its side and spill building waste along the side of the road.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and shut down both the Lynn Valley on- and off- ramps. The approaches remained closed for several hours while workers cleaned up the mess. The ramps reopened in the early afternoon.
Inspectors blamed the mishap on an improperly secured clip, which had failed to keep the container fasted to the bed of the truck as it rounded a curve.
The driver was uninjured.
