Photos: Entire spiritual retreat for sale in B.C. selling for just a bit more than a Vancouver house

The property was run as a monastery for HÜMÜH, a Western sect of Buddhism founded in 1992.

An entire spiritual retreat in B.C. is on the market for just a bit more money than the cost of a detached house in Vancouver.

The property is located in the Kootenays, tucked away alongside the Kettle River in Christian Valley, a remote area in the mountains between Kelowna and the Arrow Lakes.

Located at 6055 Kettle River Forestry Service Rd., the property is just north of the small community of Westbridge. Kelowna is about two hours away.

The interesting property has hit the market listed at just over $3 million.

Formerly known as Skycliffe, the property was run as a monastery for HÜMÜH, a Western sect of Buddhism founded in 1992 by its leader, Maticintin.

As such, it has plenty of living spaces, with houses and cabins. One notable structure is a three-story octagonal tower.

It also has a building set up like a church or a place for prayer or lectures.

Along with the accommodation and other buildings, there's an orchard, 4,500 feet of riverfront on the Kettle River, and forested areas.
