First responders from across North America gathered at the Langley Events Centre Wednesday to honour Ridge-Meadows RCMP Const. Rick O'Brien, who was killed while serving a warrant in Coquitlam Sept. 22.
Lead by an RCMP pipe band, thousands of police officers, firefighters and paramedics in their dress uniforms marched solemnly in columns beneath a giant Canadian flag suspended from special arch formed by two ladder trucks from the Langley Fire Department.
They then gathered inside the hockey arena for a regimental funeral where they heard tributes from colleagues, friends and family.
