If you drove past Third and Queensbury in North Vancouver earlier this week, you're likely wondering why there was a police presence there.
On Sunday evening, several police cruisers and a firetruck could be seen surrounding an alleyway near the Moodyville intersection. Well into Monday, a police cruiser with its lights flashing was parked right on East Third Street.
That's because there's an ongoing investigation at a property on the 800 block of East Third Street, said Const. Mansoor Sahak, spokesperson for North Vancouver RCMP.
While no arrests have been made, Sahak said he couldn’t share any other details about the investigation.
Sahak said he’s received a lot of calls from people curious about what’s going on, but that police’s top priorities are to protect the integrity of the investigation as well as people’s privacy.
“There are laws that protect people’s privacy [in Canada]. It’s not like the [United] States where the laws are more lenient,” he said. “Unless there’s a public safety concern, we can’t share those details with you.”
That would change if any charges are laid, as that information is publicly available, Sahak said.
