A 39-year-old North Vancouver man is facing possible impaired driving charges after driving erratically and swerving into oncoming traffic lanes on the Lions Gate Bridge Saturday.
North Vancouver RCMP were alerted around 1:15 p.m. after two drivers heading north on the bridge called 911 to report seeing a northbound car ahead of them swerving into oncoming lanes of traffic. Officers in the area located the vehicle as it came onto the North Shore and caught up to it on Delbrook Avenue, north of West Queens Road, said Sgt. Peter DeVries, spokesman for the North Vancouver RCMP. But before officers could stop the vehicle, the driver crashed into a parked car in the area.
Officers arrested the driver for suspected impaired driving.
The investigation is ongoing and charges have not yet been laid.
DeVries said fortunately nobody was injured in the incident.
