CROWN counsel released the names of the first 25 alleged Stanley Cup rioters to face criminal charges Wednesday, including one North Vancouver resident.

Matthew Cottrell, 23, will face one charge of breaking and entering and one charge of participating in a riot.

The 25 accused rioters were each charged with participating in the riot that erupted after the Vancouver Canucks were thumped by the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals on June 15.

On Oct. 31, the Vancouver Police Department recommended 163 charges against 60 people.
