There's no BC Ferries sailings in or out of Snug Cove on Saturday, Feb. 3 or Sunday, Feb. 4.
The Snug Cove Ferry Terminal on Bowen Island is undergoing repairs and upgrades, work which began at the beginning of January and is scheduled to run through the end of March. The project involves four full-day closures of the terminal, the first taking place Jan. 20, two this weekend, and the final one on Saturday. March 9.
While no vehicles will be travelling this weekend, foot passengers can still ferry back and forth between Snug Cove and Horseshoe Bay via water taxi. The sailings will follow the existing ferry schedule and utilize two vessels, one which can carry 40 people and another which can take 12 if necessary. This form of transport is free and doesn't require a ticket. Bicycles and wheelchairs can be brought on the water taxis.
Parking is free at Horsehoe Bay during full-day closures. On the Bowen side, a free shuttle bus is available to transport passengers between Snug Cove at the Library bus stop, and a park-and-ride at Fire Hall 2, located at 1421 Adams Road. The bus will run throughout the day to match the water taxi schedule.
More details including complete schedules for the water taxis and shuttle buses this weekend can be found through the BC Ferries project's schedule page (full-day closure times can be found under the 'Sailing Schedules' heading).
