While showers are expected for the next 24 hours, heavy rain is headed to Vancouver.
Another atmospheric river looks to be bringing up to 50 mm of rain to the Lower Mainland later this week, according to Environment Canada.
"A moisture-laden system with an atmospheric river pattern will bring heavy rain to the south coast starting Wednesday night through Thursday," states the federal agency.
In advance of the rain, they've issued a special weather statement for Metro Vancouver, specifically North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Surrey, Langley and the Fraser Valley.
"However, there is still uncertainty associated with the exact locations of the heaviest precipitation," they add. "As the system moves into interior B.C., heavy rain will ease Thursday night."
The forecast following Thursday's rain looks brighter, with Friday, Oct. 29 expected to see a mix of sun and cloud. Skies are expected to clear up going into the weekend.
