Amandah is a Realtor with Macdonald Realty Ltd. in West Vancouver. Marke is a weathercaster and co-host of CTV Morning Live and CTV News At Noon.
How did you meet?
Marke: I was hosting a show and had an opportunity to interview the interior designer of the Prize Home at the Spring Home and Garden show. Amandah was the interior designer of the home and for me it was love at first sight. For her, well, it took a little longer!
Tell us about your first date:
Marke: We had dinner at an Italian restaurant, and then while enjoying the fantastic view of the city lights from the old convention centre, I kissed her.
How did you propose?
Marke: It was almost a year later and I proposed at the very spot where I first saw her: The Spring Home and Garden show. I told her this is exactly where my life changed for the better and handed her a bouquet of flowers. And, of course, she said yes!
Where and when was your wedding?
Amandah: We were married at a friend's home, with views overlooking our beautiful city followed by a reception in their backyard. It was one of the sunniest and hottest days of the summer. I had my doubts about the weather since it had been rainy but Marke assured me it was going to be a perfect day and I guess he forecast it right!
What do you like most about each other?
Marke: Amandah is outgoing and loves making me and others feel special and loved. She goes out of her way to do so and loves doing it.
Amandah: Marke is very lovable and his sense of humour keeps a smile on my face.
How do you like to spend time together?
We love doing simple things, such as walking the dog, being with friends or getting away together.
What is your secret for lasting love?
Amandah: Keep it spicy and interesting, with a few surprises now and then!
What are your plans for Valentine's Day?
It's a surprise!
