Live life fully

Four Lower Mainland residences designed with seniors' needs in mind

An unwavering commitment to its residents and the communities in which it serves is Pacific Arbour Retirement Communities signature.

The privately-owned company has built an award-winning reputation for its uncompromising dedication to enriching the lives of its residents, as well as for its contributions and sponsorships to the communities that it serves. Pacific Arbour began in 2001, with the first of its four residences, North Vancouver's The Summer-hill. Today, the company operates The Mulberry in Burnaby, the recently opened Cedar Springs in Seymour, North Vancouver and is soon to be in West Vancouver with The Westerleigh.

Specifically designed with seniors' needs in mind, each residence boast comfortable and functional common areas, spectacular views, and a great selection of social, physical, educational and cultural programs to support its residents to "live life fully."

Perhaps what is most impressive about Pacific Arbour is its deep roots in the community. The company doesn't just say it; they live it.

Even though its newest development in West Vancouver, a 130-suite Westerleigh Retirement Residence hasn't opened yet, it's already been lauded by the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce with the Business of the Year Award for its charitable work and cultural events sponsorship.

Founder/owner and chairman Rainer Müller had a very personal reason to want to create exceptional residences for seniors.

He wanted to model his residences after the excellent one his mother enjoyed in Switzerland.

"When my mother turned 80, she had trouble living on her own and I found a newly built retirement home close to my house," Müller says. "She lived there 12 years and mom was incredibly happy and well cared for."

Müller's mandate is to build within vibrant urban settings in the heart of the city, so that all of the services seniors require, whether it's their doctor's office, grocery store or bank, are all centrally located.

Müller credits the dedication and compassion of employees of Pacific Arbour for creating homes that seniors want to live in.

"You can feel the sense of community that exists in the way the staff and seniors interact," says Müller.
