Dear Editor,
Once again Mt. Seymour Ski Resorts is grooming the Mount Seymour Trail that is outside of their controlled ski area.
I can only assume they have permission from BC Parks to do so. I would even bet that they are being paid by BC Parks to do it. But why?
Every year the groomer destroys a number of trees. So what reward is gained for the cost of destroying trees? I frankly have no clue.
What’s wrong with a snowy trail leading up to Brockton? Instead we have a groomed highway full of destroyed trees and broken stumps. A snowfall will cover the damage, but there’s no hiding the carnage when August rolls around and every tree has the top lopped off.
Who is managing our public parks? Because right now it doesn’t seem like BC Parks is.
Brent Hillier,
North Vancouver
