BIKE lanes are one of the constant hot button issues on the Lower Mainland. Cyclists welcome them and drivers grumble about them. There are a number of lanes that already run through a large part of Vancouver and some have popped up on the North Shore. Warm sunny days have certainly helped put cycling on more people's minds. But would more lanes really encourage people to drop their gasguzzlers and adopt pedal power?
