The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia is packing its bags and moving the North Vancouver Driver Licensing Office away from Central Lonsdale.
ICBC's lease at its 125 East 13th St. office is expiring and the building there has been approved for redevelopment.
The provincial auto insurer has signed a lease to relocate the facility to Norgate Mall at 1331 Marine Dr., adjacent to Dollarama.
“This location met the business requirements that are needed to support a Driver Licensing office,” a statement from ICBC read. “The location is centrally located for North and West Vancouver residents. It is on a bus route. Parking is allocated for booked road test appointments and for ICBC customers, and there is an increase in size of floor space to support the increase in population growth for the community.”
The site is currently under construction to prepare for the new tenant.
No date has been set for the move, but the company expects it will be sometime in early 2021.
Once the move is complete, there will be no change in services offered there, according to ICBC.
