Lynn Valley Road is down to one lane of traffic north of Mountain Highway and BC Hydro crews are on site as downed power lines caused by falling trees knocked out power to more than 2,100 customers in North Vancouver on Friday.
As of 1 p.m., about 120 customer remained without power in the area. According to BC Hydro, the power outage is taking longer to restore because it affected a critical power pole with lots of equipment.
A smaller pocket of customers in the 1,000 block of Calverhall Street and 1200 block of Adderley Street was also without power because of trees falling on power lines.
Over in West Vancouver, about 30 customers remained without power in the 1,400 block of Chippendale Avenue and Chartwell Drive along with a handful of customers on Camridge Road in the British Properties. That power outage was also caused by snow conditions impacting the power lines.
