NOMINATIONS are now being accepted for Capilano University's 2012 Alumni Awards of Excellence.
The awards recognize the significant achievements of alumni, employees and friends of the university.
The Alumni Awards of Excellence comprise four categories: Distinguished Alumni, One to Watch, President's Service and Empowering Learning.
The Distinguished Alumni award honours individuals who have integrity and stature and have more than 10 years of experience in their field prior to 2012.
One to Watch awards are given out to those who have clearly distinguished themselves early on in their profession. Winners must have attended Capilano University within the last 10 years.
Capilano University's alumni recognition award program is currently in its sixth year and has honoured more than 60 individuals and organizations. Past award winners include author and playwright Anosh Irani and AIDS researcher Dr. Thomas Kerr.
Deadline for nominations is Feb. 1. An award ceremony will be held on May 9 at the Pan Pacific Vancouver hotel. For details on how to nominate someone and for award history, visit www.capilanou.ca/alumni/awards.
