Police are trying to identify a body pulled from North Vancouvers Lynn Creek Thursday morning.

Investigators have said the victim may be a man who went missing 10 days ago.

Jim Parent, 54, was last seen at his residence in the 4000-block of Lynn Valley Road Feb. 5. Last week, with no leads to go on, the North Vancouver RCMP issued a release looking for information from the public. On Tuesday, they got a tip suggesting he may have walked into Lynn Canyon Park on the day of his disappearance. Police got in touch with North Shore Rescue, who launched a search.

The volunteer team spent much of Wednesday scouring the parks trails by foot, searching the creek in kayaks and surveying the area by air. When a member found a piece of clothing in the waterway, the team focused its efforts there, and soon a helicopter spotted the body submerged in a pool at the top of Twin Falls.

An RCMP dive team retrieved the remains Thursday morning, and they were flown out of the park for examination.

Police say they will be issuing an update when they have determined the victims identity and notified next of kin.
