The public is being invited to an open house this week to share their views on a new apartment building that would target people working in West Vancouver who couldn’t otherwise afford housing in the district.
Park Royal Shopping Centre Holdings, the proposal applicant, is hosting a public information meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 6-8 p.m. at 967 Park Royal South.
The meeting format is a drop-in open house, according to a statement from Park Royal.
“Members of the public are invited to attend, view display material, ask questions and provide comments,” reads the statement. “There will be no formal presentation.”
Initially proposed in November 2021, it was pushed back by council to tweak certain aspects, and again delayed as new councillors elected last fall wanted more time to review the proposal.
A council presentation and first reading is slated for Jan. 23.
If you would like to express your opinion, but not at the public meeting, you can do so online.
The proposal includes:
- 201 residential studio apartment rentals,
- 50 parking stalls (.25 stalls per unit),
- 303 bicycle storage spaces (1.5 per unit),
- a six-storey residential building with landscaped rooftop amenity, and
- a northern lot (694 Duchess Ave.) outdoor amenity green space.
