If you have any space in your long weekend calendar, there are some sloshy activities at the Shipyards Brewery District to fill it with.

Starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, you can saunter down to House of Funk for the Sip & Slip Social, where you’ll find a Slip ’N Slide set up outside North Vancouver’s most funkadelic establishment.

Guests are invited to run and slide between sips of beers and cocktails, accompanied by food from Dos Amigos and tunes courtesy of DJ Civilian and DJ Praiz. Festivities will continue late into the night.

Then, beginning at noon on the B.C. Day Monday, Streetcar Brewing is celebrating its fifth anniversary with an expanded patio, special beers and a one-day dim sum menu.

On Sunday, Aug. 16, Copperpenny Distilling is hosting its final Fanny Bay Oyster pop-up from 2 to 7 p.m.

And to end the summer, the whole brewery district is celebrating with a barbecue on Saturday, Aug. 24.

House of Funk is also putting the word out for the berry-picking population to bring blackberries by the brewery by Monday, Aug. 12, in exchange for pints – on the House.

The berries will go into its Berry Good Brew, which will be tapped at the end of summer barbecue. How intensely berry-forward it will be is in your hands, the brewery said.
