You may have skied or boarded it, and now you can hike it.
Cypress Mountain Resort has opened a new alpine walking route, the Raven Ridge Trail. After riding the Eagle Express Quad Chair up Black Mountain, guests can walk the one-kilometre loop to a lookout point near the top of the Raven Ridge chair.
On the lookout viewing platform, hikers can enjoy refreshments while taking in views of The Lions mountain peaks, known as Ch’ich’iyúy Elxwíkn (“Twin Sisters” or “Two Sisters”) by the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) People.
“Following your scenic ride up Black Mountain, embark on an unforgettable adventure along the enchanting Raven Ridge Trail, weaving through breathtaking mountain wildflowers and lush nature,” reads a statement from the West Vancouver resort.
Cypress says the “family friendly” trail passes alongside the Eagle Coaster, a 1.7-kilometre thrill ride with an elevation drop of 279 metres that reaches speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour.
