The Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in North America on June 2, 1967, a week after it was launched in the U.K. with "A Day in the Life" leading into the run out groove on Side B.
"A Day In The Life" Sessions (Jan. 19 - Feb. 22, 1967): On Feb. 22, 1967, using three pianos, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Mal Evans all played an E major chord to complete the ending for “A Day in the Life.” McCartney led the recording, which was captured by Geoff Emerick in the control room of Studio Two.
