Jockey Mario Gutierrez and late BC Lions executive Bob Ackles took a moment to pose for North Vancouver photographer Ralph Bower at Hastings Racecourse. Bower, a retired Vancouver Sun photographer, has offered more than 150 of his original horse racing photos to be on display beginning Aug. 4 — BC Cup Day at Hastings Racecourse — in support of the Hastings Jockeys Benefit Fund. The Ralph Bower Horse Racing Photo Gallery at Hastings Racecourse will be open to the public, free of charge, and prints of Bower’s photos will be available with proceeds going to the fund.
