Luigi Russolo was the first noise composer and an artist in the musical branch of the Italian futurist movement in the 1910s. He created noise instruments called intonarumori and is one of the artists featured in the Vancouver Art Gallery’s new exhibit: Mashup: The Birth of Modern Culture.
