Country bluesman Jontavious Willis picks out, Piedmont-style, his own take on Blind Willie McTell’s “East St. Louis Blues.”
Earlier this year Willis released his sophomore album, Spectacular Class, on the Kind of Blue label, with bluesmen/mentors Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ credited as producers.
Willis, currently on tour, performs at St. James Hall in Vancouver on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. as part of the CapU Global Roots series in collaboration with the Rogue Folk Club.
