Moving out of Bird's shadow, Jackie McLean performs “Appointment in Ghana” with a quintet on the 1961 Blue Note album Jackie’s Bag, with McLean on alto sax, Tina Brooks on tenor sax, Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Kenny Drew on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Art Taylor on drums. Jackie's Bag, was recorded in two sessions with two different bands and was originally released in mono, according to London Jazz Collector.
