October is Thankfulness Month at Lynn Valley elementary and students are fundraising in support of Anthony Manoukian, a Grade 2 student who has special needs, by participating in the Kids Coin Drive. The initiative is presented by Variety — The Children’s Charity, which has supported Manoukian’s family over the years. Seventeen kids from 13 communities across B.C. are involved in this year’s campaign, which, since its inception a decade ago, has raised $1.8 million for children in B.C. who have special needs. Proceeds from the drive support grants for emergency transportation costs to out-of-community hospitals, medications, mobility and communication devices, and therapeutic programs.
