A North Shore organization devoted to supporting families and serving children and adults living with intellectual disabilities is celebrating its 65th anniversary with a fundraising Walk and Rollathon.
North Shore ConneXions Society couldn’t hold a large public gathering to celebrate the big anniversary due to COVID-19 restrictions, but they’ve hit the streets and trails of the North Shore for a virtual event, to have some fun and raise some funds. Team members have been collecting pledges and walking and rolling since May 1, with the event scheduled to wrap up today.
You can see what the walks mean to society members in this heartwarming video:
The society has so far raised nearly 60 per cent of its $6,500 fundraising goal, and will be accepting donations for this event until May 15. To donate, visit the Walk for ConneXions fundraising page.
All funds raised will support children and adults living with intellectual disabilities, as well as their families, by providing quality programs and services that support their development, independence and empowerment.
