We asked some local couples a few questions for our Valentine's Day special feature, which appeared in the Feb. 12 issue of the paper.

How did you meet?
We were set up by a mutual friend.
Tell us about your first date:
Chris was living in Victoria and he came to Vancouver just to take me out. We went mini golfing, walked the seawall and had dinner in English Bay. It was pretty cute.
How did you propose?
On a ferris wheel in downtown Seattle during a family road trip, in front of them all. The wedding is planned for July 12 at Alex’s family cottage.
What do you like most about each other?
We can spend days on end with each other and not get sick of it.
We have the perfect balance between common interests to share, and separate interests to teach each other about.
What is your secret for lasting love?
Allowing each other to be ourselves.
