Carter Kay, 12, squeaks past Ben Lawson in one of the soapbox races held June 10 in Blueridge, North Vancouver. Soapbox Racers was a Parkgate Community Centre event in partnership with Seymour Heights elementary and funded by the United Way.
The successful event will be back next year, so aspiring Seymour racers in grades 6 and 7 can contact the community centre to register and ultimately design their own racer.
