North Vancouver hills will soon be alive with the sound of music.
The annual Music in the Park event is scheduled for Sept. 4, 12-5 p.m., at Capilano Regional Park beside Cleveland Dam.
The free festival features live music, demonstrations by local artists, park interpreters, stewardship groups, and kids activities. There will also be food to buy on site or you can bring a picnic.
Camila Ramos Bravo is the events and development manager with the North Vancouver Community Arts Council, which is partnering with Metro Vancouver to present the event.
“It’s a celebration of the environment, stewardship, and our local landscape through the arts,” she says. “Event-goers are treated to five hours of free live music, in a gorgeous outdoor setting, surrounded by local artists demonstrating their techniques.”
The event brings together emerging and established musicians, she noted.
“My favourite part of this event is being able to see and embrace Capilano River Regional Park in a different way. It’s incredible how art and music bring people together in a special way.”
