What could be a more enjoyable experience than joining a community of hikers at scenic Mount Seymour in North Vancouver?
What if that experience also included supporting a worthy cause? Elevate 2 Educate ‘Take A Hike Build A School’ fundraiser offers the best of both worlds.
The event, held June 29 at Mt Seymour, is committed to improving the lives of children globally by building 100 schools under the banner of the LYNK Foundation.
Regardless of their background or fitness level, everyone is invited to the fundraiser, founded by long-time North Shore resident, global influencer and philanthropist Sir Darren Jacklin.
“In a time when mental health awareness is more crucial than ever, this event aims to bring people together in nature, fostering a sense of community, support, and shared purpose,” said Jacklin, who was knighted into the Royal Order of Constantine, the Great and Saint Helen in November 2022.
“Participants will have the opportunity to network with influential individuals while also contributing to a noble cause.”
Jacklin said the hike offers not just a physical challenge but also a chance to reflect, connect, and find solace in the company of others who share a common goal.
“There’s something profoundly healing about being in nature and walking side by side with others,” said Jacklin.
“Our goal is to create a space where people can come together, support each other, and make a real difference in the world. Building schools is about more than education; it’s about breaking the cycle of poverty and providing opportunities for future generations.”
Participants can register at www.HikingFundraiser.com as individual hikers or networkers or form teams with family, friends or colleagues.
“Whether you’re looking to make new connections, find peace in nature, or support a global cause, the Elevate 2 Educate hiking fundraiser promises to be an unforgettable experience that uplifts both the mind and the heart,” Jacklin said.
“Together, we can make a difference—one step, one school, and one community at a time.”
