Prepare to be amazed or terrified — or both: the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) has announced what's in store for Playland’s annual Halloween event.
Following the successful 2021 run of its landmark Fair, the PNE has revealed its Playland amusement park will be transformed into a Halloween-themed event dubbed Hallowed Eves. Held on select nights between October 8 and 31, guests will bear witness to creepy décor, fire and swordplay, incredible stunts and circus arts, mutant carnivores and re-animated dolls.
The event incorporates a number of free acts including:
- Burns the Dragon & The Caravan of Curiosities, a combination of circus and sideshow performance inspired by the film The Hills Have Eyes. The show will include various stunts culminating with a jaw-dropping fire show finale.
- Kasha Konaka the Contortionist who is based in Vancouver, will add an eerie twist to the already terrifying tale of the Manson Family.
- Dr. Yukalator is an awe-inspiring multi-prop juggler who’ll dazzle guests with displays of his incredible skills.
- Neil E. Dee is a sword swallower who will be performing his act on select nights throughout the event. Also an extreme stunt performer, Dee will combine classic stunts as well as some brand new mind-blowing ones.
- Bella Bizarr’s act will involve walking over shards of broken glass, stilt walking, and even hammering a nail into her own head!
Vaccine passports will be required for entry and advance tickets required. For more information about ticket prices you can check out the PNE’s website.
