Alberta resident Harry Christensen has been arrested and charged with the 2018 first-degree murder of Chilliwack man Kyle Cromarty, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced Nov. 28.

Christensen is alleged to have killed Cromarty on Oct. 4, 2018.

Police found Cromarty suffering from fatal gunshot wounds in the 46600-block Yale Road in Chilliwack. Cromarty, then 27, was taken to Chilliwack General Hospital but later died.

In March 2021, the investigation was transferred to IHIT’s Cold Case Unit.

Christensen was arrested on Nov. 25, and the charge was laid the next day.

“This case is a testament to the resiliency and commitment of the IHIT members,” says Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT.

“Our investigators continue to dedicate themselves to these cases, long after the initial call comes in,” said Pierotti.
