The rain is coming to Vancouver.

Raincouver is making a one-day appearance this week.

It's going to get wet in the city on Monday, July 29, Environment Canada meteorologist Gary Lee tells V.I.A.

Very wet, compared to what the region has seen lately.

"It's going to rain through the whole of Monday," he says, noting 10 to 15 mm are expected for most of the region, with some spots potentially getting 20 mm.

If the prediction stays true, it'll be the most rain Vancouver has seen since June 2.

It'll also be cooler than normal, with a high of just 18 C.

It should essentially be a one time situation, with rain starting in the morning and gone by the evening.

"The rain intensifying throughout Monday, then slowly tapering off into Monday evening," Lee explains.

The expected precipitation is due to a wave of weather coming from the north Pacific.

However, the wet days won't stay, Lee adds.

'We'll still remain cloudy for Tuesday, but the rain should stop for the western part of the lower mainland pre-noon," he explains.

Light showers might remain for a little, but that too should move east by the end of Tuesday. A high of 20 C is expected.

Wednesday skies should be clear and get clearer as a new high pressure ridge builds up nearby, bringing renewed heat. Wednesday is predicted to have a high of 23 C, Lee says, with things getting hotter after.

By Friday the high near the water should be around 25 C, while inland areas are expected to hit 29 C.
