Police recovered this e-bike in the area of Kingsway and Edmonds Street in Burnaby last Thursday.

If your e-bike disappeared in the Edmonds neighbourhood last Thursday morning, you might want to call Burnaby RCMP.

At about 8:15 a.m., they got a report from a witness who said they had seen a man sawing a lock off an e-bike near Kingsway and Edmonds Street and then riding off on it.

Police arrived and located a man matching the suspect description trying to enter a nearby apartment building with the bike.

Officers searched the man and found a saw, knife, drill and other tools.

The man was arrested and released with a court date and conditions.

"We would like to commend the witness who saw something that didn't look right and called police," Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in an emailed statement.

Burnaby RCMP is now looking for the owner of the bike — a green Rad Power e-bike, with an orange child seat on the back.

Anyone with information is asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999. Quote file number 25-3464.
