Vancity Theatre is screening David Batty’s new documentary about 1960s British youth culture, My Generation, this week, featuring actor Michael Caine. The film takes its name from The Who’s track “My Generation” released as a single on Oct. 29, 1965, with a cover of James Brown's “Shout and Shimmy” on the B side.
The band played the song along with “I Can See For Miles” on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour on Sept. 17, 1967. “My Generation” was The Who’s usual set closer during that year as they first began touring North America.
