Pull Together

Erian Baxter, Megan Curren, Bob Putnam and Jen McCarthy are part of group of Cove merchants who have launched a paddling event to protest the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion. Motivated to protect the natural beauty of Indian Arm, the merchants have created an event to pull together with the Tsleil-Waututh and Coldwater Nations.

The Pull Together campaign is raising funds for the legal challenge and continued opposition to the pipeline expansion that would see a significant increase in tanker traffic through Burrard Inlet. Many Deep Cove businesses are donating partial proceeds of their sales to the campaign on May 15.

Those looking to join in solidarity can meet at Deep Cove Kayak at 6 p.m. for an evening paddle, with special rental rates all going to the cause. Call 604-929-2268 to reserve, or bring your own vessel. The Raven Pub will host a fundraiser after the paddle session, at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for a pizza and a drink and can be purchased by calling 604-838-2046.
