The Lions Manor fire July 24 changed all tenants’ lives in a blink of an eye. Such anguish, such devastation and such a sense of ... what now? Where do I go?
Remember these people are seniors and are often at the mercy of others.
What I witnessed by people in the Deep Cove community that day and the days following will be etched in my mind forever. One doesn’t often witness a community reaching out as this community did.
Deep Cove village deserves applause. There’s more to this village than the ocean and mountains.
There are no words invented yet that can even begin to express just how grateful we really are for the love (the community has) shown to us. My husband and I witnessed this love in action. Love on the inside always acts on the outside. It is on display in the way you respond to others.
How our community took care of its own – especially seniors – is priceless, absolutely priceless. You held our hands tightly – ever so tightly – through a very difficult time in our lives.
It is humbling to be on the receiving end of the generous monetary gift you as a community have blessed us with.
We needed. You gave. We wept. You wept with us. God bless each and everyone of you. Think about the footprints you’re leaving behind for others to follow: love, kindness and generosity.
God urges us to spend our money on things that matter and share your money with those in need – and you have. What wonderful footprints you’re leaving behind for others to follow.
