Windsor secondary band and dance academy teacher Marissa Heaven and her dance partner Manuel Aguilera recently took first place at the 2016 Canada Salsa Congress in Toronto.
Heaven, who grew up studying ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and lyrical at Seymour Dance, says she loves the social aspect of dancing salsa. Heaven squeezes in training several times a week in Vancouver from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. and dances in three major competitions each year.
