Whistler sees slight decline in population for 2020

Whistler Village. The resort has seen a slight drop in population in the last year.

Whistler’s population shrank slightly in 2020, according to Statistics Canada numbers for last year.

The number of people living in the resort peaked in 2019 with 13,966 residents, but then dropped by 18 people to 13,948 in 2020.

Pemberton’s population, however, continues to climb. In 2019, it reached a high of 3,024 people before adding 79 new faces to the Village for a total of 3,103 in 2020.

Meanwhile, Squamish had the biggest growth spurt with 21,080 in 2019 and 21,273 last year for a spike of 193 people.
