Two North Shore women have been recognized for their outstanding achievements at the 36th annual YWCA Women of Distinction awards on Tuesday.
West Vancouver’s Suzanne Lewis and North Van’s Jennifer Wildi were among the recipients honoured for their contributions to the well-being and future of our community.
Lewis is the Chief Medical Advisor at the Pacific Autism Family Network, and leads innovative research collaborations in the discovery of new genes and environmental factors that cause autism spectrum disorder.
Wildi meanwhile is the co-ordinator of Canuck Place visits and chairwoman of school visits with the Reading Bear Society. She’s responsible for enhancing the quality of life for children receiving palliative care, while also supporting underprivileged families.
More than 1,300 guests and volunteers came together at the JW Marriot Parq Vancouver to honour the 66 inspiring women and organizations.
The YWCA Metro Vancouver was founded in 1897, and provides a range of integrated services for women and their families and those seeking to improve the quality of their lives.
