An open letter to West Vancouver mayor and council:
Just a note to tell you how much fun we had at the Coho Festival last Sunday.
As it is every year, it was such a great community-building event.
We were amazed at the seamless organization of the day, the number of volunteers that made the day flow like clockwork (evident in their black T-shirts), the entertainment offered, the fabulous salmon barbecue and how clean everything was.
It was refreshing to see the emphasis on recycling; Ambleside Park was so well looked after.
We want to tell you how much we appreciate the Coho Festival every year, and how grateful we are to the municipality for the promotion and support of this wonderful event.
It is the biggest “block party” of the summer – and so fun to see the commitment and hours of volunteering that go into the event (how do they find so many people to help!?).
It is such a great opportunity to see the political personalities of the North Shore and we count on happening upon neighbours and friends in the music garden – we are never disappointed.
The venue? It just doesn’t get much better.
We appreciate the inclusion of the Squamish Nation, and the promotion of the salmon enhancement program and its agenda.
Thank-you so very much for this very appropriate use of our tax dollars.
If this is what our money goes towards, we are all for it.
We can count on the Coho Festival to be the culmination of a wonderful summer, year after year.
