A West Vancouver woman who had two seasons of fame on a reality TV show that focused on lifestyles of Vancouver’s wealthy “housewives” is being sued by her credit union for not paying her overdraft loans.

BlueShore Financial Credit Union has filed a lawsuit in North Vancouver provincial court against Jody Claman, who starred on the Real Housewives of Vancouver series between 2012 and 2013.

The claim states that Claman wrote cheques on her account when there was no money to cover them in October 2014 and hasn’t made payments since August 2017, racking up a bill of $32,000.

Claman has not yet filed a statement of defence.

The Real Housewives show, which ran for two seasons, focused on the social lives, friendships and backstabbing drama between a group of well-off women in Vancouver’s champagne-and-Botox set.

But things haven’t been all wine and Jimmy Choos since the show was cancelled.

Claman sued one of her RHOV cast mates over comments made when Claman’s daughter was injured in a drive-by shooting.

Claman also went through a very messy public divorce trial, during which a judge criticized Claman for refusing to disclose her finances, including not declaring any income from her role on the Real Housewives show in 2013 on her income tax return.

During the trial, Claman told the judge she was $148,000 in debt and had living expenses of $50,000 a month.
